day 48

My first missed photo.  The day just got away from me yesterday and I completely forgot until it was after midnight and obviously, too late. Our day was pretty full yesterday.  EJ and Olivia finally had their Valentine's Day party at school.  It had been postponed two times for winter weather.  And actually, yesterday was the first time they had been to school in two weeks.  Again, because of winter weather cancellations and then President's Day on Monday.  I also decided to give my Zumba class a shot again last evening and am happy to report that I returned home from class uninjured.  Hopefully I can keep things that way.

I guess the kids were a bit worried about me returning to class since they watched me hobble around for two weeks on a painful leg.  EJ warned me before leaving that if I hurt my other leg, I'd have to use a "walking stick".  And then Olivia told me that if I hurt my whole body, I'd have to crawl to get around.  So much for thinking that their Mom is Super Woman.

Class went well, although I babied my leg the entire time.  I can't jump or run yet so it limits what I can do in class.  Plus, I'm petrified of it happening again so I'm being very careful.  The last thing I want to do is re-injure it.  We go to Disney World in about six weeks and I don't want my husband to have to rent a stroller for me as well.

So, day 48 is a no photo day.  Hoping that I don't have too many of these "no photo" photos in my 365 project file.  But, I'm pretty proud of myself for making it 47 days without forgetting and am surprised that this didn't happen sooner.

Day 46

Dear Piper,

Six months ago today you graced us with your presence.  Six months.  Such a short amount of time, relatively speaking, to feel as though you've always been with us.  We're so glad you're here.

Love,
your family

Valentine To Do

Day 41, originally uploaded by tlheyman.

Way too many things on my to do list today. Holidays are fun but I think I overdo it.

Oh, and I started a batch of cookies an hour ago and the sugar and butter are still sitting in the bowl waiting on the rest of the ingredients. I failed to check our egg supply before I started and only have half of what I need. This is throwing a wrench into my perfectly timed out day.

I have cookies to bake, Valentine's to finish, packages that need to go to the post office (but also need to include the cookies so those are on hold), a doctor's appointment for my leg (finally), and convincing the kids to finish writing their names on their Valentine cards.

The last task is probably going to be the most difficult of the day.

Polaroid Love

I think I'm in love.  2010 is the year that Polaroid has decided to make its comeback.  The PIC-1000 is to be released sometime early this year and is definitely on the top of my wish list.  An instant camera that now includes red eye reduction, flash and a self timer.  And, on top of all of this, it's pretty.  This camera just may jump start my moleskine photo album/scrapbook project idea.

Day 33

Day 33, originally uploaded by tlheyman.

This is me. After my Zumba class. Nursing the first injury I've had so far in my 36 years. Does this mean I'm getting old? Trying to do too much after having a baby? Was I too tired during the workout from getting up with Piper the night before? Was it because I didn't stretch prior to class?

These are all of the questions that keep running through my head as I've gimped around this week, figuring out the best way to get from point a to point b without pain. I go for an MRI and see an orthopedist next week to find out the extent of the injury. All we know right now is I've torn my calf muscle.

Yes, it feels as good as it sounds.
